Obscured By Clouds" is the seventh long player by Pink Floyd. The album was originally released on June 3, 1972 and is based on their soundtrack to the French film La Vallée.
The recordings for "Obscured By Clouds" took place in the Château-d'Hérouville studios near Paris. They lasted only two weeks.
It is still the first album on which Pink Floyd used a synthesizer.
"Then in June 1972, after More with Obscured By Clouds the next Pink Floyd soundtrack was released, "which provided the musical backdrop of the French film 'La Vallée' by director Barbet Schroeder. With many shorter, rockier pieces and with and with the renunciation of sound experiments it offers it offers at first sight unusual material, but this style was already evident some of the songs on the two previous albums the band shows itself here (for many many for the last time ...) as a real rock band."
